Raven’s Ramblings

I know I am no Oprah. Heck, my kid says I will never make it on the program. I don’t know what I am missing since I have not seen one single show. Not a one. Nor do I plan to catch any before she leaves the air. But I have been thinking about her decision to quit. From what I gather, she is at the top of her form and still quite popular. Quitting while you are ahead can be a mark of maturity, self respect, dignity and grace. (I am personally saddened by rock stars decades beyond their prime who continue to plague the concert circuit.)

A good thing can get beaten into the ground. So I am thinking it is time for me to retire my Ramble. After three years of nattering on about the minutiae of my life, enough already.

I don’t know what the powers that be will do with this lovely space but I am betting it will be interesting. Not sure what I will do going forward either. A different column? Guest stints? I don’t know but I hope it will be interesting too!

After five  years of digital scrapping, I am still bewitched, bothered and bewildered by the art form. Yeah, I am calling it an art form. I am still buying kits and software and peripherals. Still buying manuals and reading tutorials. Still excited when I discover a new technique or even, for that matter, a new keyboard shortcut. I am not the kind of woman to sit on her keyboard and keep all that excitement in. Baby, I was born to ramble. Just thinking it is time to move on to a different space.

I hope I don’t sound too puerile if I end by thanking all the readers who slogged through these rambles and kept me company on my journey: your presence has often been a comfort to me.

Awww, Kim. I love your rambles. I also love that you know yourself so well that you know when to move on. May the blessings be. And when you do need to ramble, just send it through an email.

Oh Kim, I am going to miss your musings. I look forward to them every Sunday. I hope you will find a way to continue to write. I think you are a natural and that you have a book’s worth (or two) still inside of you! Thanks for sharing your life with us each week.

I only started reading the blog a few months ago, and I really enjoyed your rambles! Sorry to see you go, I’m going to miss this column, it was my favourite. I’ll look for a guest ramble here and there then. Good luck with any new endeavours!

Kim, I have to say that I will also miss your ramblings. Your writing style is so full of wit and self-deprecating humor. I find myself nodding, agreeing, laughing out loud. LOVE the way you express yourself. I don’t comment often enough, but I ALWAYS read and ENJOYED your musings. You will most definitely be MISSED here on the “Blog”. Big HUGS! :)
