It’s our great pleasure to welcome Lori Wiley of Diamante Designs to Scrapbookgraphics. She’ll be selling her beautiful designs in Studio Diamante! Let’s take a few to get to know her!
Q. How did you get started in digital scrapbooking?
I started after I had my boys. I was taking so many pictures and wanted to do more with them. Soon I went searching on the web and came across some tutorials. It was all over then. I was hooked and haven’t left since.
Q. Do you have a "day job" besides designing?
My other full time job consists of making sure the kids are well feed, clean and well taken care of. Keeping the house under control, so to speak! I’m fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom. I love being home with my boys.
Q. Tell us about your family!
Well let’s see, I have been with my husband for 14 years and married for six. We have two handsome young men together and I have two step kids, in which, I consider just as much mine. Our kids are 4, 5, 16 & 19. The oldest just started collage this year and my youngest just started pre-k. So we have both scales of the spectrum.
Q. What was the last book you read?
Hummm…Do kid books count? It was a shark book. The boys are right into learning about them. Me personally, I don’t read much other than magazines.
Q. What was the last movie you saw?
ET..Had to watch it with the boys. Such a cute movie.
Q. What was the last product you grabbed from another SBG designer?
Well it’s been a while since I have scrapped but plan to grab Natali Designs calendars again this year. They make such beautiful gifts for the folks.
Q. If you could live or visit anywhere in the world where would it be?
Hummm…I LOVE warmer tropical areas but one place that I have always wanted to visit was Australia.
Q. Where do you get your inspiration for designing?
I love to make papers and spend days just making a bunch and go from there. Other things that inspire me are nature and the world around me.
Q. Of all the layouts you have done, which is your favorite?
Sadly, I haven’t scrapped in forever. I do plan to make something real soon though!
Q. Are you working on anything special right now?
I have just finished a kit called Take a Walk With Me. I had lots of fun with it and have made a little sampler for you all to play with. The full kit will be in store by Friday!
Ooooh…thanks so much for the pretties, Lori! Can’t wait to see the full kit! And thanks for joining us on the blog today!
We’re starting this week off right sharing a few pages from the Crew made with Lori’s goodies. We hope they’ll inspire our readers to play along with us! Lori’s actually got a challenge for you this week: create a page about your favorite season showing in detail what it is that you like about that season. This could be done with pictures or journaling. Post your pages in the Play Day Gallery and you’ll be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a copy of Impressions of the Harvest, the October collab from The Studio Girls.

I picked Diamante’s kit Misty Morning because I loved the colors and softness of the elements and thought it would look great with this black and white picture of my friend’s daughter.

As soon as I saw Lori’s Remember Me kit with the lavender in it I knew I had to use it for my wedding album. We had a lavender theme at our wedding and gave all the guests lavender plants. It also rained on our wedding day so the moody blues in this kit were perfect to scrap one of the black and white photos of me sitting in the wedding car waiting for a break in the rain. I also used Lori’s Simply You kit for some extra touches of lavender, one of her Photo Masks for the photo and one of her Layout Holders for the finishing touch. It was a pleasure using such luxurious kits, full of texture, gorgeous colours and pretty elements.

I have been enjoying Diamante’s new store immensely. She has a keen eye for unusual elements.

I really fell in love with the colors in Diamante’s Scarlet Macaw paper pack. Love the grungy edges and in that vein, I used her inked frames to set off my color blocking.

I thought this Dream Escape kit was perfect for this photo of my girls with the sharks and rays at the aquarium!

My daughter was looking for a custom shirt – with her and her boyfriend (you know – that young love kind of thing) so rather than go spend an arm & a leg, I opted to make her one myself! Diamante’s IN LIVING COLOR was a wonderful choice! The elements were perfect! It’s a gorgeous kit that will see many more uses!!

The minute I saw Diamante’s Dream Escape at the store I knew it was the kit for me. I love the gorgeous textured pprs. and realistic elements. This kit has a little bit of everything from wooden frames, to foliage, to doodled fishes and real shells. Just perfect for those days at the beach photos.
