Tips for Styling Staples on a Digital Scrapbook Layout

featured-staples

Do you love to re-create your pages to look as though they could be real?  I thought it would be cool to look super close up at a staple and re-create the effects digitally.  Here are some quick and easy settings to try it yourself! I scanned in a sample of a stapled paper.  The scanned image shows on the top of the sample.  I then extracted the staple and made a paper to re-create a similar look digitally.  The finished result is the bottom of the sample.  You would need to slightly … [Read more...]

featured-vintagephotos

Hello my fellow scrappers! Welcome to the wonderful world of aging your photographs. This first part of the tutorial will walk you through changing your photograph to both B/W and Sepia. Let’s start off with the color. You know, there just may be something to the Darwinism Theory.  Hmmmm. Realistic Shadows in Digital Scrapbooking

featured-shadowtutorial

I'm going to start you out nice and easy.  In fact, it's SO easy, you're gonna LOVE this tutorial.  Welcome to the Dark Side of Shadowing.  *insert evil laugh here* Let's take Morgan here (I love this picture ... she looks so innocent. Looks can be VERY deceiving.  heh): Let's take a closer look.  Note the natural shadows here.  I've marked in red the underlying shadow ... the shadow underneath Morgan that her body makes on the concrete floor.  I've also marked the shadow … [Read more...]

Have you noticed this cute little icon on your Tool palette? Such a little guy yet he wields such power. While Pen Tool may sound scary, he's really quite friendly. In fact it could possibly become your best … [Read more...]

Holding a Layout

I thought I would post some of the steps for my layout "Love Scrap" which is a photo of my daughter holding a digitally created scrapbook layout.  Turned out to be one of my favourite layouts and it is pretty simple to do. First you will need some photos of someone holding a "blank canvas"  I used the back side of a 12x12 piece of scrap paper.  I took about 6 photos all at different distances so I would have a choice on how I wanted to go about making the layout.  This is the photo I … [Read more...]

Brushes are one of the most important and versatile tools to be obtained for a Graphics Program. Brushes are glorious and wonderful and kind to animals; they adapt and can be altered.  In fact, if I could marry them, I just might!  I’m sure THEY wouldn’t ask my how much I spend on shoes.  Heh We know that brushes can be used for painting with the Brush Tool.  However, did you know that your brush collection can ALSO be used with most of the other tools found in your Tool Box as … [Read more...]
