The Queen of the Crop contest finally comes to a close. While this contest sure has been a lot of work, it has also been incredibly rewarding on so many levels. One of the drawbacks of operating a site like Scrapbookgraphics is that I almost never have a spare moment to look through galleries, and I really miss that. This contest has been a super bonus in that regard because not only did I get to see so many fabulous layouts, I also created the challenges based on topics that really truly interest me. The end result was that I got back so much more than I ever thought possible, and I feel very grateful. I also feel incredibly honoured to have gotten to know these amazing women and artists just a little through their, creative expression, tackling topics that were often intimately revealing. The layouts made made me laugh, cry, contemplate and self-evaluate. If relationships offer us the opportunity for reflection, then each and every contestant in this competition should know that I am taken back by the brilliance of this amazing circle of women artists. What a blessing! Thank you.

So I decided that the best way to close this contest was with a celebration, and it is a much needed one at that. After all of the stress and all of the hard work, I hope you will all join me in letting down our hair and enjoying a little well deserved R & R. The thing is, that I am turning 45 in a few days (June 20th) and I've been thinking about what path I am to take. I am just not sure if I am supposed to be having a mid-life crisis right now, or turning into a wise old .....um.....crone. ;) Neither feel completely right at the moment.
